Yellowhammer

Yellowhammer

Barnack Hills and Holes, Nr. Stamford - 21 April 2005

The population of the yellowhammer has declined recently, and is now a Red List species, so I was lucky to photograph this one back in 2005. Although I wasn't able to get very close, the colour of the bird means that is stands out amongst the browns branches and green background; and your eye is drawn instantly to it.
