Sanderling Scratching An Itch

Sanderling Scratching An Itch

Bridlington, East Yorkshire - 22 February 2015

I spent a couple of hours on this morning as the sun came up, photographing the sanderling on Bridlington's south beach.

These little birds can let you get reasonably close to them at times, however are constantly moving around in all directions.

Luckily this one stopped for a brief moment to scratch an itch, which I managed to capture.
